What is Laser Hair Removal?

IPL wavelengths are drawn to hair and reduce the amount of hair. Six to ten sessions taken six weeks apart are required for optimum results. Complete hair removal may require six to nine treatments in some cases. Mild discomfort may occur, in which case a lower frequency can be used.
What to do before your appointment

Shave the treatment area 24-48 hours prior

Arrive with clean skin; do not apply creams, lotions or deodorant prior

After your first treatment if you need to have a topical anesthetic applied please arrive 10-15 mins before your appointment is to begin.
Contraindications for Laser Hair Removal

Tanned or naturally dark skin

Use of Accutane within the last 6 months

Lupus or any medical condition that causes photosensitive reactions

Light induced Seizure Disorder or Migraine Headaches

Pregnancy or Lactation

Skin Cancer (must be cleared for five years)

Skin Grafts

Use of Anti-Biotics or any photosensitizing medication (must be off medication for 7-10 days prior to treatment)

Use of Anti-Coagulants (blood thinners)

Allergic to test light

Recently sun-bathed

Serious problems with heart, liver, kidney and other internal organ diseases as well as malignant tumors

Epilepsy

Severe diabetes
-
History of keloid scarring

An infection of the treatment area
