MICRO-NEEDLING

Micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) improves the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in improvement of the appearance of softer wrinkles. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels which can be used with topical gels, creams, and serums to help improve the appearance of the skin.

These treatments can be used to treat skin lesions and blemishes and can help to improve scarring such as acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, loose skin, discoloration, and stretch marks. Microneedling is well-tolerated and has little downtime.

MICRO-NEEDLING

60 Minutes

This procedure is given using the MicroPen EVO, the only FDA-approved micro-needling device on the market. A sterile, single-use cartridge containing 14 microneedles is attached to the MircoPen. Your medical professional will apply sterile saline to your skin as a glide lubricante and select the appropriate pen position based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

MICRO-NEEDLING WITH PRP

90 Minutes

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy is a step-wise medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed for PRP, which is then placed onto the face to accelerate collagen production and healing.

Combining this therapy with microneedling allows for deeper penetration of PRP and can optimize your results.

Prices will vary based on consultation and individual treatment.

MICRO-NEEDLING FAQ's

What is Automated Micro-Needling?

Performed under the supervision of a physician, automated micro-needling is a new innovation in aesthetic dermatology for the improvement of facial acne scars. During the treatment, MicroPen EVO creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries to initiate the skins natural wound repair process resulting in an improvement in the appearance of facial acne scars.

Who is a Candidate?

The MicroPen EVO is intended to be used as a treatment to improve the appearance of facial acne scars in adults aged 22 years or older.

What does it feel like?

While some areas are more sensitive than others, most people generally compare the sensation to sandpaper being moved across the skin. Your medical provider will likely apply topical anesthetic prior to treating to minimize discomfort.

What will my skin look like afterwards?

Some minor pinpoint bleeding is to be expected immediately post-treatment followed by bright redness which typically subsides after 2-3 days, depending on the level of treatment. Some patients may opt for a more aggressive treatment depending on their social downtime preference and skin needs.

How many treatments will I need?

Because of its low-downtime, patients often opt for a light MicroPen EVO treatments every 1-2 months simply out of desire to maintain their appearance. However, if your goal is to resolve specific skin irregularities, your medical provider might suggest a series of 3+ treatments at 4-6 week intervals with a microdermabrasion in-between.

When will I see results?

One of the most exciting perks of the MicroPen EVO is the immediate "glow" patients can see as soon as the procedure is finished. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment.

What are the Risks?

Dryness, rough skin, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, discomfort, tenderness and burning. Adverse events include reactivation of herpes simplex virus(cold sores), pigment changes that include lighter or darker skin in the treatment area that resolves over time, or no change in their acne scars.
